“Alba” is a project that crosses the languages of contemporary dance, classical music and literature, bringing together two structures from Santa Maria da Feira (the Ballet Contemporâneo do Norte and the Orquestra Filarmónica Portuguesa) in a multidisciplinary show. In 2023, one year after the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the first publication of the “Novas Cartas Portuguesas” by Maria Isabel Barreno, Maria Teresa Horta and Maria Velho da Costa (1972), and one year before the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the April Revolution (1974), the project proposes to question, in a playful and critical way, the political, historical and social, but also poetic and philosophical meanings of the word ‘freedom’.
