Concert Sibila Bilingue @Porto

Sibila Bilingue is a project that unites listening, meeting, poetry, music and a gesture of approximation to the migrant communities that inhabit Invicta, communities of the most diverse origins that today give a new, beautiful and challenging color to a city that forces us to think about this bridge between two languages: a bilingual city of cultural, social, religious and musical universes.

After a first year in which four young Portuguese poets met 5 groups of migrants, whether migrants in fact or in spirit, we present the first results of this low-speed collision: the poems by Francisca Camelo, Gisela Casimiro, and Miguel- Manso pass through the compositional invention of José Valente, extend to the improbable ensemble of musicians from the Porto Philharmonic Orchestra, to offer us a first taste of the voices of the Gypsy community, the Brazilian community, the African community, the Asia of the Indian Subcontinent and Europe of east. Rui Spranger lends his voice to the poems read.

The next year of this project is sown in these two celebrations. That the centrality of culture comes from a progressive and urgent opening to the margins.
