NEW OPPORTUNITIES
The Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra announces the creation of a specific program aimed at supporting the training of music students as scholarship holders, funded directly by OFP, with the details outlined in this application opening regulation and the respective terms of acceptance.
For the purposes of this Regulation, a SCHOLARSHIP HOLDER is defined as the beneficiary of a Scholarship, after submission of the application and completion of the respective auditions, under the following terms. The SCHOLARSHIP consists of a monetary amount aimed at supporting the development of the student’s activity as an instrumentalist in the OFP. This is intended for students enrolled in Instrument courses, at either Bachelor’s or Master’s level. Accordingly, up to 30 scholarships will be awarded, valued at €500.00 per month, with a maximum total of €6,000.00 per year, depending on the activity stipulated by the OFP, to the selected scholarship holders, as outlined below.
REGISTRATIONS
A. The auditions for the Portuguese Philharmonic Academic Orchestra (OFP) are open for the following instruments: Viola and Cello.
B. Registration is open to all young Portuguese musicians, as well as foreign students or residents in Portugal.
C. Applicants must be between 16 and 29 years old (reference date – December 31, 2024).
D. Registration must be completed via this LINK, following the instructions.
E. Registration must be submitted with all requested information by November 15, 2024.
F. Auditions will be conducted exclusively through video recordings.
Candidates may include the video link with the required repertoire in their form submission or send it separately by email to filarmonica.portuguesa@gmail.com, with a submission deadline of 11:59 PM on November 15, 2024.

Audition videos must start with the candidate’s name and be recorded in a single take.

Private video links uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo, or similar platforms may be submitted.

Videos should have good image and sound quality, allowing the candidate to be easily recognized.

Links should be sent to filarmonica.portuguesa@gmail.com, along with the candidate’s Curriculum Vitae or Biography.
REPERTOIRE TO BE PRESENTED
All candidates must perform a piece or movement from a concerto of their choice (between 3 to 4 minutes) and the required orchestral excerpts for their instrument. The orchestral excerpts are available for download at:

NOTES
a) Results will be announced by November 30, 2024.
b) The jury’s decision regarding the selection of instrumentalists is final and non-appealable.
c) Registration for the auditions is free.
e) All performances must be conducted without piano accompaniment.
