Manuela Correia is the current legal department coordinator for the Cinema and Audiovisual Institute. Between November 2009 to February 2017, she worked as legal consultant for the Board of Administration at Óbidos Criativa, EM. In January 2016, she was appointed by Lisbon City Council to the Board of Directors of the Municipal Company of Management  of Equipment and Cultural Animation(EGEAC), where she remained until October of 2007.  

Career highlights have included being Chief of the Cabinet for both the Secretary of State for Cultural Property (XVI Constitutional Government) and the Secretary of State for Environment and Spatial Planning (XV Constitutional Government.)

She was previously appointed (on 19 April of 2002), as President of the Management Committee for the D. Maria II National Theater, acting as Director-General and  as Deputy Director of the Portuguese Institute of Museums from November,1999. She also served as a deputy in the Office for the Minister of Culture (XIII Constitutional Government), for the Office of the Minister for Planning and Territory Administration, (XII Constitutional Government) as well as for the Office of the Secretary of State for Natural Resources. She began her professional career by providing legal advisory services to the Northern Region Coordination Commission and providing legal advisory and consulting services to Viacentro – Sociedade Imobiliária from the Sonae Group. She holds a degree in Law from the Portucalense University of Porto in the Juridic Sciences.
