Portuguese–Belgian flutist, Teresa began her musical education in the Academy of Espinho. Later she continued her studies with Prof. Ana Maria Ribeiro at the Conservatório de Música de Aveiro. At the age of 18 she was accepted into the class of Prof. Felix Renggli at the Hochschule für Musik Basel. There, she completed her Bachelor degree. She is currently pursuing her Master in Performance with minor in Orchestra at the same institution
An active orchestral musician, Teresa just finished her Academy with the Bern Symphony Orchestra (Bühnen Bern), where she played as an official member for the entire season 24/25. She has performed with many other orchestras including the Ensemble Diagonal, the Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra, the Chamber Academy Basel, the International Lutosławski Youth Orchestra, the European “Sounds of Change” Orchestra project, among others. She has worked with many great conductors such as Baldur Brönniman, Ilan Volkov, Emilio Pomàrico, Jac van Steen, Tobias Gosmann, Nicholas Carter…
She has received several awards in recognition of her artistry, such as multiple first prizes at the Espinho Wind Competition, second prize at XII Paços Premium International Competition. Most recently she was awarded the Hernandez Family Award (2025) and performed as a soloist with the BIMF Festival Orchestra.
As a chamber musician, she has performed with a variety of ensembles, participating in numerous recitals and festivals. She is also dedicated to showcase repertoire written by women composers, which is often overlooked. With her trio, she has appeared in the Women in Classics (ForumMusik Diversität) concert series and at the Feminale Basel Music Festival.
She has participated in masterclasses led by renowned musicians such as Kersten McCall, Sibel Pensel, Adriana Ferreira, Sarah Rumer (flute) and Nicola Mazzanti and Pamela Stahel (piccolo).
